Greetings from the Director

As the new 2007 – 2008 year starts to swing into action, you will notice a few changes. Our offices have been painted. (You can see before and after pictures here) Our fish are still thriving. New faces will be seen as many of our student staff members have graduated and moved on. As director of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Student Services, I extend a warm welcome to all new, transfer, and returning students, staff, and faculty.

Our New Colors

Some of you may have heard the exciting news about the newly recognized GLBT Alumni Alliance, an alumni affinity group of Colorado State University. The office wants to welcome the members of this ground-breaking alliance into its first, full year as a recognized affinity group. Congratulations! We look forward to forging ties amongst and between our students and our esteemed alumni!

For those of you who would like to know more or get involved, our office welcomes new faces. As director, I have been known to take people out for coffee, tea, or a smoothie. I enjoy making those personal connections, and on a campus this size, those connections remain so important. Our office offers a variety of ways to get connected, build community, and get involved. Whether you’d like to hang out and watch a movie, do research for a paper, or want to become a voice on campus through our newly renamed Speakers’ Bureau called Visible Voices, you are welcome. You do not need to identify as same gender loving, transgender, bisexual, lesbian, gay, questioning, genderqueer, multisexual, or intersex to enter our office. Our office seeks to be a safe place. All are welcome here.

As we move into our ninth year, I invite you to stop by 174 Lory Student Center. You may just find the quiet study space, new people, or book you need!

Welcome to Colorado State University! The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Student Services office welcomes you – whether you are a student, staff, faculty, alumnus, or greater Fort Collins community member!

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.
